Moira O'Brien LIPFMoira has been taking photographs for some 45 years having started with a box Brownie camera in the late 1950's. She has always been interested in photographing people but it was not until the introduction of digital photography that it became a passion for her. She bought her first digital camera in 1999, an Agfa 1.2MP and sold all her film camera kit a year later. After a brief flirtation with Sony cameras she converted to Canon in 2005 and now uses a Canon EOS 5D MkII, a Canon EOS 40D and a variety of Canon lenses and accessories. She turned professional in 2003 and now undertakes all kinds of photography assignments with an emphasis on portraiture, weddings (both civil and religious), publicity photos, events and commercial photography. She is a member of Photographers United, and of the SWPP/BPPA (Society of Wedding and Professional Photographers) and was awarded Licentiate of the Irish Photographic Federation in 2008. Moira is also an active senior member of the Cork Camera Group and currently serves on the committee. Moira also has a personal website at www.moirajane.net. You can also follow her on Twitter. | ![]() ![]()
